Was doing my usual thing - thinking while driving around this beautiful coutry - and thought it might be helpful for anyone thinking of holidaying or house hunting in Bulgaria to share my experiences of day to day life in rural Bulgaria.
I've been holidaying here for almost 10 years and have lived here full time for almost 2 so have a bit of experience of the country.
I have to confess that my Bulgarian is almost nonexistent but I get by, which is probably half the reason I haven't tried harder to learn the language of the country. Not many people in the villages speak English unless it is a village near a big city or a tourist resort but charades work really well and give everybody a laugh!
Its a grey day today, the weather has definately taken a turn towards winter in the last few weeks but still reasonably warm during the day and even in the evenings & mornings my heating has only been on for half an hour or so at a time to take the chill off.
Entries here might be a bit sporadic as it depends how busy I am whether I will get round to this but I will try to share my experiences with you as often as I can.
Off out now as showing some of the new wave of settlers from Turkey round my rental properties this afternoon. Fingers crossed they like one of them!
