Well it was up and at 'em yesterday morning lol! Dogs fed, let out for a run, coffee and out of the house for 8am and off to meet my friend Helen in Yambol so we could car share for our trip to the coast (a bit more than an hour from here on the lovely new motorway recently completed that runs all the way from Sofia to the Black Sea Coast).
Both of us have been toying with the idea of buying a flat at the coast, partly for our own use and partly to rent to holidaymakers or house hunters.
We had a weekend in Sarafovo (right beside Bourgas airport) and had toured a few of the resorts to try to work out which area we liked the most and could afford! After having a look at Sunny Beach, Aheloy, Sarfovo, Ravda, Pomorie and Nessebar we didn't manage to narrow the field down much - they all have their pluses and minuses - but we did decide on some specific properties we wanted to investigate further. Helen was keen on some property in either Aheloy, Sarafovo or Ravda and I had more or less decided to concentrate on Sarafovo.
We viewed in Ravda and Aheloy with Pat & Helen Fahey from the One Stop Property Shop in Bourgas. A lovely couple who have lived in Bulgaria for a fair while so know the ropes and are very straightforward in their dealings with their clients. We did like what they showed up but neither of the properties quite hit the spot!
On to Sarafovo where we had arranged to meet Chris from the Worldwide property group. Have to say we almost didn't bother with this company as their website was rubbish and they proved a bit difficult to contact but as I was keen to view in Sarafovo I persevered and now am glad I did.
Chris proved to be a lovely Irish lad, very chatty, very straightforward and obviously knew the ins and outs of buying property in Bulgaria (it can be a bit of a nightmare if you don't have the right people in place to help). He showed us a few flats in the Premier Plaza Complex in Sarafovo and we both decided to put in an offer for similar flats! We are now waiting to find out if our offers will be accepted or not.
Forgot to say on our way down we managed a quick trip to both Jumbo & Baumax in Bourgas. Jumbo is a great shop that looks a bit like a toys r us from the outside but sells all sorts of things apart from toys, Baumax is more like a B&Q type of place. Bourgas is a great shopping centre with a wealth of bars, restaurants etc. Definately somewhere worth exploring.
So, after our busy day, tired but happy, we headed off home into the sunset - its starting to get dark here now around 6.30pm
Can't wait to find out if our bids for the flats were successful!
